Prom Season is Coming in Spencer Massachusetts

 

prom dressI was reading an article in our local paper, Spencer New Leader, and wanted to share the information.  The Life Skills class of the David Prouty High School is holding a Prom Dress Drive.  They are collecting donated Prom Dresses, On Sunday March 20 from 1-4 the Life Skills class will hold a Prom Dress Expo in the Cafeteria at the David Prouty High School.  They will sell the donated dresses, as well as having vendors such as hair and make up experts, tux and limos, and other related Prom Vendors.  There will be 5 brand new dresses donated by Lorne's Bridal & Tuxedo for a silent auction.

 

Volunteers are still needed:

They are still looking for volunteers to help assist the function as well as vendors that want to volunteer their services or donate products.  To help with the event, you can contact Simonovitch by either emailing her at simonovitchp@sebrsd.org, or calling her at Maple Street School at 508-885-8529.  Donated dresses can be dropped off at Maple Street School on Maple Street, Spencer, Mass, or David Prouty High School, on Main St (rt 9) Spencer Ma.

This is such a good endeavour.  Prom nights are important to teenage girls and this levels the playing field so they all get to be special.  Excellent localism.

It doesn't hurt to talk to our kids now about Prom safety. They are so vulnerable at that age.

I love the idea with the Expo.

Hi Pam - So that is what you looked like at your prom.  Very nice.  The Expo is a great idea.  I hope there is somebody talking about dancing and drinking.

Conrad I didn't notice such a resemblance until I looked at your comment. Yes I probably did look like that, she just has way more confidence than I did at that age. She is donating that dress.
